Adam Salsberg CAT(C), RMT
Adam graduated from Algonquin College with a diploma in Outdoor Adventure in 2010. During his time at Algonquin, he specialized in rock climbing, snowboarding, high-angle rescue, white water rescue (level 3 technician), and wilderness first responder. After earning his diploma, he worked in the rock climbing and adventure sports industry for several years. Adam became concerned with how many people were repeatedly getting injured in this industry and wanted to understand how to better help those individuals minimize injury and return stronger.
Adam decided the best method was to continue his education in the field of injury care. He obtained his Bachelor of Health Science in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College in 2019, as well as becoming a first responder. To further his knowledge and incorporate new techniques and skills, he became certified in Massage Therapy from Ontario College of Health & Technology.
During his externships with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Ryerson Rams, and Wishbone Athletics, Adam was able to work both on the field with high-level athletes and in a clinical setting with the general public. As a certified Athletic Therapist, Adam has acted as a head therapist for Mohawk College’s soccer, rugby, and volleyball teams, where he also provided on-field emergency care for fractures, dislocations, concussions, and heat-related illnesses.
Adam’s approach to treatment is to use current research, patient values, and clinical experience to thoroughly assess, and provide individualized treatment plans to his patients. He uses manual techniques, joint mobilizations, fascial release, strengthening, and performance-protecting taping techniques. Adam’s highest priority is providing patients with the appropriate treatment and tools necessary to reduce pain and increase functional movement.
